Turin, the spiritual city of the Alps

Turin and the Sacra di San Michele, between royal city and spiritual heritage (Italy)

Turin seduces with its discreet elegance and royal heritage, at the heart of Piedmont. Former capital of the States of Savoy, the city reveals a refined atmosphere, punctuated by wide avenues, majestic squares, and harmonious architecture, where history naturally blends with contemporary life. The arcades, historic palaces, and iconic cafes give Turin a unique character, both noble and welcoming.

The historic center is easily explored on foot. From Piazza Castello to the banks of the Po, the stroll offers a tasty mix of heritage, art of living, and Piedmontese gastronomy. Elegant boutiques, renowned chocolatiers, historic cafes, and local markets punctuate the visit, in a city often considered one of the most refined in Italy, while remaining away from mass tourism.

Just a few kilometers from Turin, the Sacra di San Michele stands out as an emblematic place in Piedmont. Perched on a rocky spur overlooking the Susa Valley, this millennial abbey offers a spectacular setting, between sky and mountain. The site impresses as much with its architecture as with the unique atmosphere that emanates from it, inviting contemplation and a timeless break, facing the vast surrounding Alpine landscapes.

The journey to Turin and the Sacra di San Michele is already an integral part of the experience. The road crosses the Alps and the Italian valleys, alternating between tunnels, open reliefs, and remarkable panoramas. I accompany you in the morning in a comfortable and spacious vehicle, for a journey of about 2 hours, in all serenity, taking into account traffic conditions and border crossings.

Once there, you have 3 to 5 hours of free time, divided between exploring the center of Turin and visiting the Sacra di San Michele. This time allows you to stroll at your own pace, have lunch in town, enjoy the viewpoints, and the special atmosphere of these iconic places. In the late afternoon, I drive you back to your starting point, for a well-balanced day trip, combining urban culture, Alpine landscapes, and Italian spiritual heritage.
